About Our American Saddlebreds

'Be in good stead, ride an American Saddlebred' - Rosemary Mackay

Ballalaba's American Saddlebred Horses have to be seen to be believed. Our horses are station-bred on undulating country.

From 6 weeks of age our horses are fed supplements with vitamins, minerals, amino acids, dolomite, oil, apple cider vinegar and garlic etc, Mitavite products and grains and, when needed, good quality hay.  We grow the hay on our property.

We do not wean our foals until they reach 6 months of age - we feel they are not psychologically or physically ready to leave their dams before this time.  Our horses are strong and flexible in their action.  They have a wonderful temperament and enjoy being trained.  We only use gentle methods to train our horses.  They never experience any harsh treatment whilst in our care.  To see the full training program for our purebred and partbred American Saddlebred horses, click on the 'Training Program' button at left.

The American Saddlebred is a supreme athlete with versatility, a 'jack of all trades' being an excellent horse for dressage, endurance, carriage driving, jumping and pleasure riding.

Our American Saddlebred horses are fully registered with the American Saddlebred Horse Association of Australia (ASHAA).

Come and meet all our beautiful horses.  If you are looking for an athletic equine friend who will carry you in extreme comfort then please look at the American Saddlebred Horse.

Visitors are always welcome to stay on our property.
