'Don't waste time! Straddle an American Saddlebred' - Rosemary Howe The American Saddlebred is a supreme athlete with versatility, a 'jack of all trades' being an excellent horse for dressage, endurance, carriage driving, jumping and pleasure riding. http://www.american-saddlebred.com/asbhist.htm Bannister (Ballalaba) American Saddlebred Horses have to be seen to be believed. Our horses are station-bred on undulating country. Prior to putting a mare in foal she, the stallion and foals from 6 weeks of age are fed supplements with vitamins, minerals, amino acids, dolomite, oil, apple cider vinegar and garlic etc, Mitavite products and grains and, when needed, good quality hay. During the times of excellent pasture fodder the horses have continual access to additional vitamins, minerals and amino acids. We endeavour to keep paddocks free of weeds. The paddocks consist of a multiplicity of grasses including phalaris, rye and clover. We do not wean our foals until they reach 6 months of age - we feel they are not psychologically or physically ready to leave their dams before this time. Our horses are strong and flexible in their action. They have a wonderful temperament and enjoy being trained. We only use gentle methods to train our horses. They never experience harsh treatment whilst in our care. Our American Saddlebred horses are fully registered with the American Saddlebred Horse Association of Australia (ASHAA) registry which is now attached to the American Saddlebred and Sporthorses Registries of Australasia (ASSRA). ASHAA have the supreme A Registry and partbred registries in Australia. The A Registry is the paramount registry of purebred American Saddlebreds in Australia in that it conforms seamlessly with the instructions handed down by the American parent body the American Saddlebred Horse Association, USA, from the time of blood typing through to DNA identification of the horses. Other American Saddlebred registries in Australia do not have the seamless blood-typing and DNA identification of the ASHAA A Registry and therefore, the breeding of the horses, without these continous records, could possibly, sadly, be called into question. Come and meet all our beautiful horses. If you are looking for an athletic equine friend who will carry you in extreme comfort then please look at the American Saddlebred Horse. Visitors are always welcome to stay on Charley's beautiful country property. |
